Näsby Park - Futuraskolan
International Curriculum International School of Stockholm

Who we are

Futuraskolan International pre-school Näsby Park is a bilingual pre-school with children and staff from all over the world. We have an international perspective preparing the children to be citizens of the world and our pedagogical activities are performed in both Swedish and English.

English is our common language, but we are able to support the children in other languages.

Our Location

We are located in Näsby Park, close to public transportation. Outside our school is a large playing field and playground area and we are only a short distance from the forest. By utilizing the city transportation we have a plethora of Stockholm’s museums, theatres and parks at our fingertips.

What we offer and how we work

We follow the Swedish Curriculum and we also work with the International Early Years Curriculum IEYC. The IEYC is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject, for international mindedness and for personal learning.

We work thematically to stimulate learning in the areas of Social skills, Language, Mathematics, Motorics, Arts and Natural sciences. We utilize many forms of pedagogical documentation, but something that follows our children through the years is their personal portfolio. All classrooms has their own iPad and IKT is part of our daily program.

The children are not restricted to one single classroom. The pre-school is divided in 12 different theme rooms and all the children have the opportunity to use and be in all the theme rooms all over the pre-school. We want the children to own the whole pre-school and to feel safe everywhere and with all staff members. We want them to feel joy and to be stimulated not only by the teachers, their friends and activities but also by a well thoughtful pedagogical environment.

Our Theme Rooms are Dining room (Madagascar jungle) – Art room – Pretend room – Drama room – Math room – Construction room – Gym – Library – Board games – Science room – Water room – 5-Senses room and Cozy corner

Welcome to Futuraskolan International Preschool Näsby Park!

“Our home away from home”

Dear Parents,

In September 2024, devastating wildfires burned a massive area of Serra da Bocaina National Park in Brazil—equivalent to 1,600 football fields. This UNESCO World Heritage site is of immense value, yet the local community lacks resources to restore it.

The IBIOS Institute, a non-profit dedicated to preserving the Atlantic Forest, called for help. A company donated 50,000 native tree seedlings, but transportation funds were missing. Thanks to previous fundraising efforts, Futuraskolan stepped in and covered the transport costs—ensuring these saplings reached the affected area! We are incredibly proud and grateful to be part of this mission.

But there’s still much to do!

Market Day & Art Exhibition – April 3rd

All proceeds will go toward reforesting Serra da Bocaina.

A special thank you to Forest Kids and Christiaan & Louise Hooft for supporting this cause. Their natural products are displayed at the preschool entrance—half of all sales go to the project!
Order here:
Forest Kids Order Form

We’re also launching our annual Toilet Paper & Paper Towel fundraiser:
Every package sold contributes 70kr to the project!
Order here

On Market Day, we’ll take final product orders, plus offer handmade crafts and baked goods from the children.

A huge THANK YOU to all parents who have already ordered and supported this cause!

Together, we can make a real difference and restore our beautiful Atlantic Forest. This project links to the UN Sustainable Development Goals 13. Climate Action and 15. Life on land.
Best regards,
Adriana & Staff

"There should be no discrimination against languages people speak, skin colour, or religion."
Malala Yousafzai

All our children at Futuraskolan International Preschool Näsby Park had a fun-filled day celebrating **Rock Your Socks Day**, where we explored what makes us unique and how we share similarities.

We explained the significance of this celebration and discussed why it’s important to honor and appreciate our differences 🤍. Although we may look different, we are all children, and we all share the same world 🌍 and attend the same preschool. It's a reminder that we are all connected by our humanity.

We sang the lively *Rocka Sockorna* song and proudly displayed our colorful socks as symbols of individuality.

The theme of inclusion continued with a book focusing on the topic of equality and non-discrimination, directly linking to the children’s rights 2 and 23 under the UN Convention. It was a great way to reinforce the importance of respecting everyone, no matter how different they may seem. It also introduced children to sign language. 🤟

The celebration also included lots of hands-on fun as the children decorated mismatched socks using different materials and techniques.

All our children had a fantastic time celebrating **Nowruz**, the Persian New Year! Nowruz marks the beginning of spring and is a time for renewal, joy, and spending time with loved ones.

We were treated to an amazing presentation by Ahmad's and Reera's families. They set up a beautiful **Haft Sin Table**, a traditional arrangement that includes:

- **Sabzeh** (sprouted greens) symbolizing growth
- **Senjed** (dried fruit) representing love
- **Seer** (garlic) for health
- **Seeb** (apple) for beauty
- **Samanu** (sweet pudding) symbolizing strength
- **Serkeh** (vinegar) for patience
- **Somagh** (sumac) representing the sunrise

After admiring the display, we got hands-on and planted our own **sabzeh** using lentil seeds! Finally, we finished the celebration by decorating our own Haft Sin Table.

A huge **thank you** to Ahmad's mum for the wonderful presentation, and Reera's family for organizing the planting activity and gifting plastic eggs for everyone to take home. What a beautiful way to welcome the new season!

Sing-along theatre: The performance Traditions around Easter 🐣

In connection with Easter 🐣 and the World Theatre Day 🎭 that will soon be celebrated, all our children attended and enjoyed the performance - Traditions around Easter - in Täby församling.

About the story:
Spring is here, and the warmth has finally returned. The leaves are starting to appear on the bushes and trees. Have you seen any spring flowers? We plant a seed in the soil and have to remember to water it! Many baby animals are born from eggs, and Easter eggs usually contain candy. But what is in the eggs that we find? Let's knock together and look for it. One of the eggs is empty! Why? The donkey comes and tells us why Easter is celebrated in churches around the world – and why we say Happy Easter.
