Global

In a world that is full of learning possibilities, Futuraskolan International leads the way in developing international mindedness amongst our students, staff and families. With us, they evolve to become tolerant, attentive, respectful, curious, communicative and contributing individuals to the society and the world around.

Futuraskolan wishes to make more concrete how we work with the development of global citizenship, our international profile, our promise and our value ground. In the development of global citizenship, we want to nurture an action orientation by getting more of our staff and students/children involved in community service and exchange in order to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. This exchange is intended to happen on both a local, national and international level.

Through feeding programs, home visits, sharing of knowledge and learning the connection between Futuraskolan and the international community is strengthened.

Meet our Reading Buddies!
This year at Futuraskolan_kvarnskogen, we are super excited to welcome four very special friends to our preschool! We will introduce our new Reading Buddies (Läsfixarna) to the children—a playful and interactive way to spark a love for reading and bring our storytimes to life.
1. Julia the Fortune Teller/ Spågumman Julia - helps us make predictions and guess what the story will be about before we peek inside.
2. The Question Monkey / Frågeapen - is always curious and asks questions like Who? What? Where? and Why?
3. Miss Detective/ Fröken Detective - uses her magnifying glass to pause and investigate tricky or new words.
4. Cowboy Jim catches the main ideas and helps us summarize the story when we’re finished.

We can’t wait for all the exciting storytime adventures we’ll share with the children and our new character friends!

🇪🇺✨ Erasmus+ in Cuenca – jobshadowing, learning, inspiration and unforgettable hospitality ✨🇪🇸
We (Katarzyna from Näsby Park, Saša from Brunbärsvägen, Angelina from Gåshaga, Katerina from Kvarnskogen, Ariel from Danderyd and Sandra from Skarpäng) had the opportunity to experience several inspiring days filled with pedagogical exchange, classroom observations and professional dialogue in Cuenca, Spain with Erasmus +.
From the very first welcome at CEIP Fuente del Oro, we were met with such warmth, generosity and outstanding hospitality. The staff made us feel truly welcome, and their openness created the perfect environment for meaningful learning and collaboration.
Throughout the programme, we explored different parts of the school’s educational work: 📚 visits to Early Childhood Education and Primary Education classrooms
👩‍🏫 observation of teaching methods, classroom organisation and learning materials
🧠 discussions about pedagogical structures, school development and educational projects
🤝 exchange of ideas with teachers about inclusive practices, resources and innovation in education
One of the most valuable parts of the visit was seeing how pedagogy comes to life in everyday practice – through classroom organisation, student engagement, collaboration and thoughtful educational planning. It was especially inspiring to reflect together on how different school systems can learn from one another and how international cooperation strengthens education for both teachers and students.
The programme also included cultural and social experiences, a visit to the University of Castilla-La Mancha, and time to continue conversations about educational innovation beyond the classroom. We got to take part of cultural outings like visiting the local market, a history tour of old town and see the mountain of the outside of town.
We return from Cuenca with new perspectives, new ideas and a deep appreciation for the people who welcomed us with such kindness.
Thank you for your incredible hospitality, professionalism and willingness to share your work with us. 🌍❤️

Our Summer Party on Friday was the perfect way to wrap up the year 2025-2026 filled with laughter & creativity. The party began with the our small groups where they crafted different style of caps with their patents and gathered together for a beautiful social circle m singing their favourite songs for our loverly parents. Our older group sang summer songs and our graduate kids blew us with their amazing dance performaces.

The highlight was the school leaving ceremony where our principal shared few inspiring words and praised the children’s hard work , presented them with their diplomas and wished everyone a wonderful summer. We wrapped up our event with families mingling & taking family pictures on our Photo Booth.

Our Grade 9 Art students at HK have been exploring what the buildings of tomorrow could look like. Through research, planning, design, and model-making, students created innovative 3D models of sustainable buildings for the future.
The project encouraged students to think creatively about environmental challenges while connecting their designs to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), and Climate Action (SDG 13).
From green roofs and renewable energy solutions to community-focused spaces, their models showcased thoughtful ideas for a more sustainable future.
Well done to our young architects for their creativity, problem solving, and vision!

🌍🏅 Olympics Day at Hertig Karl Futuraskolan 🏅🌍
A fantastic day filled with movement, teamwork, and lots of smiles!
Students represented different countries and took part in a range of activities, including sprinting, long jump, high jump, archery, ball throwing, and shot put. It was wonderful to see everyone encouraging each other, trying their best, and having fun together.
A great reminder that being active, working as a team, and enjoying healthy competition are all part of a healthy lifestyle.
Well done to all our students for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day! 👏

Forest 🌳 Explorers & Nature’s Jewels 💎!!
Our preschoolers explored the forest, past through the woods, water, bridge and gathered fallen leaves & petals and crafted beautiful nature bracelets. It’s amazing what happens when you let imagination run in the outdoors.
