In a world that is full of learning possibilities, Futuraskolan International leads the way in developing international mindedness amongst our students, staff and families. With us, they evolve to become tolerant, attentive, respectful, curious, communicative and contributing individuals to the society and the world around.
Futuraskolan wishes to make more concrete how we work with the development of global citizenship, our international profile, our promise and our value ground. In the development of global citizenship, we want to nurture an action orientation by getting more of our staff and students/children involved in community service and exchange in order to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. This exchange is intended to happen on both a local, national and international level.
Through feeding programs, home visits, sharing of knowledge and learning the connection between Futuraskolan and the international community is strengthened.

Our Grade 0 students have been expressing their creativity through art projects that help them learn more about the wonderful world of animals - @Stockholm, Bilingual
Yesterday, we had our new *Entry Point: Dinosaurs!* 🦕 The idea came from the children’s own interests that we observed during play and discussions. Parents had received information beforehand, so children came excited—many brought their favourite dinosaur toys, books, and even dressed up as little explorers!
Our garden turned into a dino adventure land where the children listened to a story, discovered fossils and eggs, and even got to crack open their own “dinosaur eggs.” They also received maps to follow and search for hidden eggs around the yard.
This activity connects to Global Goal 15 “Life on Land”as children explored nature, fossils, and living creatures while learning to care for our planet. 🌍 & also Global Goal 4: Quality Education by inspiring curiosity, creativity, and learning through play. 🦕✨

🎉 Our #futuraskolanbrunbärsvägen Preschool Flea Market was a huge success — and it was so much more than just a fun day of shopping! 🧺✨
Through this event, our little learners took part in something meaningful: learning about giving back, community responsibility, and how their small actions can make a big difference in the world. 🌍💛
As part of our Global Citizenship program, this flea market gave learners the opportunity to experience the joy of sustainable practices, reuse, and supporting a good cause. Whether they donated toys, helped set up, or just shared a smile, they were actively building the values of empathy, kindness, and social awareness.
We’re so proud of their big hearts and growing minds! 🌟

Day Seven of the GCP Greece trip:
Our final day for the first trip of the 2025/2026 school year and what a way to finish! @hotelbrainacademy are an incredible organisation that works with schools to teach learners about sustainable cooking - how to generate absolute minimal food waste from your cooking, THE GREEK WAY!!! 😍 Greek salad, tzatziki, souvlaki, and pita while utilising everything possible.
Our learners worked together amazingly, while having so much fun! An incredible way to end a truly memorable week ❤️

Day 7
What a way to spend our final full day in Athens! 🇬🇷 Today was a culinary journey all about amazing Greek food. We spent the morning at Brain Hotel Kitchen learning the secrets of sustainable cooking and diving deep into Greek flavors. 🧑🍳
We worked in teams to whip up a feast: fresh Greek salad, creamy tzatziki, soft pita bread, savory chicken souvlaki, and a surprising chocolate salami for dessert! After all that cooking, we squeezed in some last-minute shopping before heading to the beach for a final, refreshing swim. 🏊
Ended the day with a delicious last dinner at the hotels incredible veranda, sharing some mouth-watering pizzas.🍕

Integrating SDGs into interdisciplinary projects… It was great to see how our 8th graders combined creativity, responsibility for the planet, global issues (climate change, pollution, etc.), SDGs, art and famous artists, and sustainable use of materials into an interdisciplinary project, and demonstrated an ability to articulate the connections. Day Six of the GCP in Greece!
Today we had a fun road trip to Nafplio - an ancient city with plenty of important history to the local region of Argos and the Peloponesian peninsula - with @themistoklis_school and their Italian partners.
This was a cultural experience exploring the structure and history of the Palamidi Fortress - such an incredible site!
After our guided tour, our learners got to enjoy some well earned down-time in the historical Nafplio town centre 😍
