In a world that is full of learning possibilities, Futuraskolan International leads the way in developing international mindedness amongst our students, staff and families. With us, they evolve to become tolerant, attentive, respectful, curious, communicative and contributing individuals to the society and the world around.
Futuraskolan wishes to make more concrete how we work with the development of global citizenship, our international profile, our promise and our value ground. In the development of global citizenship, we want to nurture an action orientation by getting more of our staff and students/children involved in community service and exchange in order to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. This exchange is intended to happen on both a local, national and international level.
Through feeding programs, home visits, sharing of knowledge and learning the connection between Futuraskolan and the international community is strengthened.
Today we celebrated UN Day at @futuraskolanpreschool_danderyd ! 🌍✨
Our little global citizens proudly marched in a flag parade, brought toys and books from their countries of origin, painted our beautiful world, and even shared delicious traditional foods with friends. ❤️🍱🎨
So much joy, learning, and love as we celebrated the cultures that make our community so special. 🌎💛

What a wonderful day at Futuraskolan International Preschool Näsby Park! 🎉 Today, we celebrated UN Day with a vibrant and heartwarming celebration! Our little ones sang, danced, and marched proudly in a parade, waving flags from around the world 🌍 and learning about children`s rights.
The children explored what it means to have the right to identity, freedom of expression, and assembly, all key parts of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We talked about the importance of peace, justice, and equality—values that are central to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 16.
Inside, the learning continued as the children delved into traditional clothes from different cultures, gaining an understanding of the rich meanings behind flags and symbols from all over the world 🌏. It was an eye-opening experience that celebrated diversity, kindness, and the power of learning from one another. ✨

What a magical Halloween 🎃we had today @ Kvarnskogen !
As part of our global learning journey, the children set off on a forest expedition, where they listened to the enchanting story of Ljusis the ghost-who had lost its smile & emotions. Through teamwork, empathy, and creative thinking, the children explored nature, shared their feelings, and worked together to help Ljusis rediscover happiness.
Back at school, the Halloween spirit continued with fantastic crafts-ghosts and other spooky creations filled our classroom. The children also coloured pumpkins and used our educational app to watch their artwork spring to life on screen— combining hands-on creativity with digital learning!
Our celebration ended with music, dancing, and colourful face painting. Today, imagination and friendship lit up every moment, supporting Global Goal 4: Quality Education by nurturing creativity, digital skills, and emotional intelligence in playful ways.

Last week @Kvarnskogen, we celebrated our Sopsamlarmonster entry point with a special focus on one of our favourite monsters-Kompostina, whose birthday we marked together. All teachers & our principal dressed up as various recycling monsters and introduced the different types of waste their monsters “love” to collect, such as plastics, paper, cans, “pant,” and food scraps. We also had a discussion about which kinds of trash are safe for children to pick up and which types should be avoided for safety reasons. The children enjoyed the hands-on activity of sorting waste into the corresponding monster bins, reinforcing their understanding of recycling in a playful and memorable way.
We ended the session by singing a birthday song for Kompostina, fostering a joyful and inclusive atmosphere. The activity was connected to Global Goal 12-Responsible Consumption and Production-encouraging children to reflect on how their everyday actions and choices contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable world.

Today we celebrated Chemistry Day at “Kvarnskogen Preschool”with the theme “Earth – Discover the Magical Soil”! 🌍✨ The children explored nature’s cycles through fun experiments, they mixed their own soil, tested how soil cleans water, and built worm terrariums! 🪱
Our youngest scientists got to feel and explore different soil textures—sandy, sticky, and filled with tiny stones. They loved touching, squeezing, and mixing the soil. Then, together they planted seeds in small pots, learning about what plants need to grow: soil, water, air, and sunlight. 🌱 🌞Through these experiments, they explored, investigated, and reflected on the magical properties of soil. 🌱🪱 The activities were Connected to Global Goal 15: “ Life on Land” 🌿 & Global Goal 6: “Clean Water & Sanitation”
