In a world that is full of learning possibilities, Futuraskolan International leads the way in developing international mindedness amongst our students, staff and families. With us, they evolve to become tolerant, attentive, respectful, curious, communicative and contributing individuals to the society and the world around.
Futuraskolan wishes to make more concrete how we work with the development of global citizenship, our international profile, our promise and our value ground. In the development of global citizenship, we want to nurture an action orientation by getting more of our staff and students/children involved in community service and exchange in order to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. This exchange is intended to happen on both a local, national and international level.
Through feeding programs, home visits, sharing of knowledge and learning the connection between Futuraskolan and the international community is strengthened.

Today, a truck from Myrorna visited our preschool to collect 12 boxes filled with clothes, shoes and toys!
After our flea market, we carefully sorted through everything that was left. We selected the best items to donate to the refugees supported by Elix, the wonderful organisation we support in Greece. And because there were still so many lovely things left, we decided to reach out to Myrorna to make sure they, too, could find a new home.
This became a beautiful opportunity to talk with the children about reuse, sustainability and caring for our planet. We explored the idea that things we no longer need can still bring happiness and be valuable to someone else.
Rather than being thrown away, these clothes, shoes and toys will continue their journey, finding new homes, new owners and perhaps becoming someone else’s favourite things.
Because sustainability is not just about recycling; it’s also about sharing, caring and understanding that even small actions can make a big difference.
Together, we are teaching the children that giving things a second life is also a way of giving something back to the world. 🌍💚

Yesterday @futuraskolan_kvarnskogen, we celebrated UN Day by exploring an important right from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child: every child has the right to play, rest, and leisure.
The children drew the flags of their countries and proudly saw them on the big screen. We talked about the many cultures, languages, and traditions that make our preschool community special—and how we are all connected as global citizens. 🏳️✨. To bring the right to rest and well-being to life, the children enjoyed a calm spa moment with cucumber and lemon water, storytime, and peaceful music. 🥒🍋📖 For play and leisure, we had a cosy pyjamas party with dancing and movement games, filling the room with laughter, energy, and friendship. 💃🎉

🎃 Halloween at Futuraskolan International was a day full of fun and creativity!
From the Halloween parade, debates, and book reading to competitions, fantastic artwork, and our amazing PTA handing out Halloween candy, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The whole school dressed up for the occasion, making it a truly spooktacular day! 👻🧡

Stepping into the Teacher’s Shoes at Hertig Karl!
What happens when students become teachers for a day? At Hertig Karl, it means creativity, laughter, new experiences and lots of learning!
To celebrate Teachers’ Day, our Grade 8 students stepped into the role of teachers and led a special activity for our students in F–5. And because the day also coincided with Children’s Day in Sweden, we brought the two celebrations together in a fun and meaningful way!
The younger students were invited to draw their teachers as children, imagining what their teachers might have looked like when they were young. The activity sparked plenty of laughter, creativity and surprising interpretations, giving everyone a chance to see their teachers from a completely different perspective!
Meanwhile, our Grade 8 students got a taste of what it feels like to be a teacher. They had the opportunity to guide younger students, explain instructions, encourage creativity and take responsibility for a classroom activity. It was a valuable experience that allowed them to develop their leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity for students across different year groups to connect, learn from one another and share a joyful moment together.
A big thank you to our Grade 8 students for taking on the challenge with enthusiasm and to our younger students for bringing so much imagination and joy to the activity!
At Hertig Karl, learning goes beyond the classroom. Sometimes, the best way to understand a role is to step into someone else’s shoes!

Celebrating the European Day of Languages
Our Grade 7 and 8 students at Hertig Karl visited Språkcafé together with their English and French teachers to celebrate the European Day of Languages.
It was a great opportunity to use languages in a real-life setting, meet new people and experience the value of communication and cultural exchange.
For us, this is GCP in action — connecting school with the wider community and creating opportunities for language learning, inclusion and understanding.

Höstfest at Hertig Karl – Fun, Community and Giving Back!
On Wednesday, Hertig Karl was filled with laughter, smiles and positive energy as we celebrated our annual Höstfest!
Students and parents came together for an afternoon of fun, connection, and community spirit. From delicious grilled hot dogs and fika to handmade bracelets, colourful face painting and funny photos in front of our wings symbolising unity and peace, there was something for everyone!
But the best part? Every purchase and every activity contributed to something bigger. All profits from the Höstfest went directly to UNICEF, helping support children and their rights worldwide.
This is what community is all about — coming together, having fun and making a positive difference beyond our school walls.
A huge thank you to all our students, families and staff who made this day so special! Together, we showed that even small actions can make a big difference.
