In a world that is full of learning possibilities, Futuraskolan International leads the way in developing international mindedness amongst our students, staff and families. With us, they evolve to become tolerant, attentive, respectful, curious, communicative and contributing individuals to the society and the world around.
Futuraskolan wishes to make more concrete how we work with the development of global citizenship, our international profile, our promise and our value ground. In the development of global citizenship, we want to nurture an action orientation by getting more of our staff and students/children involved in community service and exchange in order to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. This exchange is intended to happen on both a local, national and international level.
Through feeding programs, home visits, sharing of knowledge and learning the connection between Futuraskolan and the international community is strengthened.
Today in our **Global Citizenship Project: Generations in Connection**, the children from Futuraskolan International Preschool Näsby Park visited the elderly home we collaborate with – **Näsby Slottspark**, one of the new care homes from Stiftelsen Stockholms Sjukhem.
Our young learners spent a beautiful morning with their senior friends: singing songs, playing bingo, doing fun physical exercises, and most importantly sharing smiles, laughter, and meaningful conversations. 💛
Moments like these show how powerful intergenerational connections can be. By bringing children and seniors together, we nurture empathy, joy, and a sense of belonging for everyone involved.
This experience connects directly to the **UN Sustainable Development Goals**:
🌍 **SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being**, by supporting emotional wellbeing and active lifestyles for both children and seniors.
🌍 **SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities**, by building inclusive communities where every generation feels valued and connected.
Together we learn that caring for one another strengthens our community.

At Gåshaga preschool, we have recognized International Women’s Day through different activities together with the children this week. We have read several books that highlight strong and inspiring women and talked about everyone’s equal value.
The children have also participated in creative activities where we made different crafts connected to the theme. Through conversations, reading, and creative work, we reflected together on friendship, respect, and that everyone can be exactly who they are.

Wow! our 2nd Hygiene Drive for Stockholms Stadsmission was a total success! Big thanks to everyone who helped out and donated, you made a real difference! 🙌
It was inspiring to have Anders from Stockholms Stadsmission visit and share how their work helps people in need, and how our hygiene drive will help too.
So proud of our Futuraskolan Hertig Karl GCP and Grön Flagg reps for their amazing effort. Together we’re spreading kindness and care!
As part of our International cooperation with our preschool friends in Spain, the Fireflies, had a joyful Carnival video call. The Spanish children showed and described their colorful costumes, and we listened carefully while learning and repeating some Spanish words together.
Then we sang a song in Swedish, and our friends in Spain sang one in Spanish (our own little preschool Eurovision moment).
To send some love across the miles, the children also made hearts for their friends in Spain, and they absolutely loved them.
This activity connects with Lpfö18 by supporting language development, communication, and understanding of different cultures. It also reflects our PER values—Progressiveness (using digital tools to connect with children in another country), Energy (singing, learning words, and creating together), and Respect (showing curiosity and appreciation for other languages and traditions.
Last day here in Greece 🇬🇷✨ Tonight we’re heading back to Arlanda after a truly meaningful week.
We’ve had an inspiring and enriching experience — from cleaning the beach and learning about marine conservation 🌊♻️, to cooking locally grown and organic food together 🍅🥗, exploring the Greek school system 📚, and of course enjoying swims in the sea and a few well-deserved ice creams 🍦☀️.
A week filled with learning, connection and unforgettable moments. Grateful for everything we experienced and the people we met along the way. Thank you @xdr2d2 for arranging this lovely trip <3

We ended the evening with a cozy pizza night for the students at the hotel. Sitting together on the veranda, looking out over the sea, we celebrated the final moments of our Erasmus week. 🍕
Tonight also marked our small closing ceremony, where the students received their diplomas for their participation. During the week they have worked together to clean the surroundings, pick up litter and help care for the environment - small but meaningful actions that contribute to a better world for our planet.
These efforts connect closely to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 13: Climate Action, Goal 14: Life Below Water, and Goal 15: Life on Land. By taking responsibility for the places we visit, the students showed how local actions can support global change.
It was a wonderful evening filled with laughter, reflection and learning. Tomorrow night we travel home, so a well-deserved sleep-in awaits before the journey back. ✈️
