In a world that is full of learning possibilities, Futuraskolan International leads the way in developing international mindedness amongst our students, staff and families. With us, they evolve to become tolerant, attentive, respectful, curious, communicative and contributing individuals to the society and the world around.
Futuraskolan wishes to make more concrete how we work with the development of global citizenship, our international profile, our promise and our value ground. In the development of global citizenship, we want to nurture an action orientation by getting more of our staff and students/children involved in community service and exchange in order to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. This exchange is intended to happen on both a local, national and international level.
Through feeding programs, home visits, sharing of knowledge and learning the connection between Futuraskolan and the international community is strengthened.

Earth Day Celebration 🌍
Today, our little learners at Kvarnskogen Preschool celebrated Earth Day with lots of curiosity, action, and creativity! We started our morning by gathering together to talk about why we celebrate Earth Day and how we can help protect our planet. The kids went on a trash-picking walk and learned which items are safe for them to pick and how this helps the Earth stay clean. Back at preschool, they watched an Earth Day story and shared their own ideas to keep our planet healthy. They also colored Earth Day worksheets and proudly received diplomas for their great work and fun learning!

At the end of the day just before we left for Spring Break, we held a learner-led Global Citizenship Program assembly. Learners presented about upcoming Earth Day and World Press Freedom Day, our bathroom lights campaign, the GCP nature photography contest and Model United Nations. Our special guest at the assembly was a representative from Stockholms Stadsmission who told us about the work they do to help immigrants and how the hygiene product donations we collected help their efforts. We are proud of our learners for taking the step to speak up in front of a large audience to promote empathy, global competence and efforts to make a better world. #globalcitizenship #savetheplanet #stockholmsstadsmission

This afternoon, we had the privilege of spending time with the seniors at an Old Age Centre. Our Grade 0 students brightened their day by singing heartfelt songs and distributing thoughtful cards to the attendees. Additionally, we were treated to a beautiful piano performance by one of our talented Grade 8 GCP students, which added a special touch to the afternoon - @Stockholm, Bilingual

Yesterday, class 7D together with students from 7F from @futuraskolan_bergtorp visited Kulturhuset and the European Parliament exhibition as part of our ongoing work with the Global Goals and GCP.
The students took part in a guided tour exploring how the EU works, learned more about the Sustainable Development Goals and their relevance in everyday life, and joined a quiz challenge that sparked great discussions.
A meaningful and inspiring day – and the sun was on our side too!
