In a world that is full of learning possibilities, Futuraskolan International leads the way in developing international mindedness amongst our students, staff and families. With us, they evolve to become tolerant, attentive, respectful, curious, communicative and contributing individuals to the society and the world around.
Futuraskolan wishes to make more concrete how we work with the development of global citizenship, our international profile, our promise and our value ground. In the development of global citizenship, we want to nurture an action orientation by getting more of our staff and students/children involved in community service and exchange in order to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. This exchange is intended to happen on both a local, national and international level.
Through feeding programs, home visits, sharing of knowledge and learning the connection between Futuraskolan and the international community is strengthened.

🇬🇷🌱 The Sustainable Greek Way
Our students explored Greek culture, sustainability, food, and art through hands-on learning!
👩🍳 They prepared traditional Greek dishes using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients while learning about reducing food waste and making sustainable food choices.
🎨 They also explored ancient Greek patterns and created beautiful meander mosaics using lasagne pieces—connecting creativity with Greek cultural heritage!

🇸🇪🍂 Kanelbullens dag at Brunsbärsvägen! 🍂🇸🇪
Today we celebrated Kanelbullens dag in many different and creative ways! 🥐✨
Some departments baked sugar-free cinnamon buns, while others created their own using play dough. Some explored books and stories about cinnamon buns, while others investigated the dough through sensory play: touching, rolling, shaping and discovering! 👩🍳📚🤲
The purpose was not only to enjoy a Swedish tradition, but also to help the children become aware of Swedish culture and traditions and understand that Kanelbullens dag is a special day celebrated in Sweden. 🇸🇪❤️
Through our activities, the children had opportunities to:
✨ Explore and develop their senses through sensory experiences
✨ Strengthen fine motor skills through baking, rolling and shaping
✨ Develop language and communication through stories, conversations and new vocabulary
✨ Explore mathematical concepts such as shapes, quantities and sizes
✨ Use creativity and imagination through play
✨ Learn about Swedish culture, traditions and celebrations
✨ Experience the joy of learning together and sharing a common tradition

Greece Day 6 - 🎨🤝 Building Community Together!
Together with ELIX, our students supported the renovation of the school of Athens. From painting and restoration to teamwork and hands-on activities, every contribution made a difference. 🏫✨
Working alongside the school children, we experienced the power of teamwork, care and community—transforming spaces while creating meaningful connections. 💙

Greece Day 6 🇬🇷 Discovering Athens: Culture, History & Connection!
A wonderful day of learning and cultural exchange! Our students visited another partner school of Athens, enjoyed icebreaking activities and discovered its history.
The day continued with a cultural walk through Athens, exploring the House of Benizeloi, the House of G. Seferis and the Kavafy Museum, followed by a guided tour of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre.

Greece Day 4- Afternoon Activity- The creativity took centre stage with a Tinkering Workshop with MIO! ♻️🔧
Using waste collected the previous day, together with recyclable materials, the students worked in small groups to explore, experiment, build, and upcycle waste into something new.
Through the tinkering method, there was plenty of curiosity, problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, and—most importantly—learning by doing! 🌍✨
A wonderful day connecting nature, sustainability, teamwork, creativity and responsible citizenship. 💚

Day 4 – Learning Through Nature and Sustainability! 🇬🇷
The day was filled with hands-on learning and meaningful experiences! 🌱
Together with ELIX, our students travelled to the beautiful Imitos Mountains, where they worked in the botanical garden using different gardening tools. They got involved in removing weeds, trimming, cutting, carrying, and caring for the natural environment. Through teamwork and practical tasks, they experienced how small actions can make a difference in protecting and maintaining our shared environment. 💚
