In a world that is full of learning possibilities, Futuraskolan International leads the way in developing international mindedness amongst our students, staff and families. With us, they evolve to become tolerant, attentive, respectful, curious, communicative and contributing individuals to the society and the world around.
Futuraskolan wishes to make more concrete how we work with the development of global citizenship, our international profile, our promise and our value ground. In the development of global citizenship, we want to nurture an action orientation by getting more of our staff and students/children involved in community service and exchange in order to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. This exchange is intended to happen on both a local, national and international level.
Through feeding programs, home visits, sharing of knowledge and learning the connection between Futuraskolan and the international community is strengthened.
Yesterday, @futuraskolan_bergtorp had the pleasure of welcoming French students to our school! 🇸🇪🇫🇷
Together, we explored the similarities and differences between life in Sweden and France, while introducing them to our school and vision for the future. As part of experiencing Swedish culture, we shared a classic fika ☕️🧁 and dived into creative crafts.
In our woodcraft sessions, the students designed and painted their own Dala horses 🐴, a cherished symbol of Swedish tradition. Through these hands-on activities, we connected cultural heritage with creativity and sustainability by using natural materials and encouraging thoughtful craftsmanship. 🌍💚
This exchange aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). By sharing knowledge and promoting sustainable practices, we create bridges between cultures and inspire a more connected, sustainable world. 🌎✨

Today’s activity was all about Global Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production !
Our little learners from Kvarnskogen had the wonderful opportunity to visit the recycling station during their field trip. The children explored different types of recycling ♻️ bins and learned about what goes where. We also had some discussions about the importance of recycling and how it helps our planet 🌍. After the discussion the kids recognised the bin for plastic and took turns to the throw the plastic items they have collected throughout this month.

Today at ‘Futuraskolan Kvarnskogen’ we celebrated World Education Day to highlight the importance of education and to inspire curiosity among our students. Every day the kids learn through various activities. However, today we explored all 17 Sustainable Development Goals in different ways according to the age group.
Younger kids looked at the Global Goals pictures and tell what they saw and they got an easier explanation of what the picture means. For example “Good health and well-being” that we should all feel good, “Peaceful and inclusive societies” that we are all friends and take care of each other. While older children discovered about Education through interactive films by scanning QR code related to Global Goal 4 ‘Quality Education’ through our educational app UR play and also learned which methods can be used to learn new things to reach the goal. The kids finish the activities by colouring their favourite things they play with in the preschool 😊

How do we get to the preschool? We created new futura logos using paper and pencils but also using iPad. We drew our dream schools and told about it. With construction materials we built a math classroom and also build objects for our school yard. And during free play today, playing school has been a favourite subject with some taking teaching roles while some are the students.

The children observed how ice melts faster in polluted water versus clean water, helping them understand the effects of pollution on polar regions. We discussed how global warming is melting glaciers and how it affects animals and people.
