In a world that is full of learning possibilities, Futuraskolan International leads the way in developing international mindedness amongst our students, staff and families. With us, they evolve to become tolerant, attentive, respectful, curious, communicative and contributing individuals to the society and the world around.
Futuraskolan wishes to make more concrete how we work with the development of global citizenship, our international profile, our promise and our value ground. In the development of global citizenship, we want to nurture an action orientation by getting more of our staff and students/children involved in community service and exchange in order to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. This exchange is intended to happen on both a local, national and international level.
Through feeding programs, home visits, sharing of knowledge and learning the connection between Futuraskolan and the international community is strengthened.
Day 2 of the GCP and @hands2ocean Grade 6 Project:
@futuraskolan_radan and @futuraskolan_international continued their adventure with @hands2ocean and @aventyrsbananstockholm, with the Trash Art project (sculptures made from some of the trash collected from Långholmen on Day 1, along with creative stories for their scultpures), and the High Ropes course!
This is a day for working together with learners we may have only just met, expressing creativity and exploring teamwork, as well as challenging fears and having plenty of fun!!!

Day 1 has come to a close with a lot of fun, new experiences, and a fantastic effort cleaning up at Långholmen.
Despite the surprise storm that rolled over us, spirits have been incredibly positive and everyone is happily in their sleeping bags.

Today’s activity was all about creativity and sustainability !
Our little artists gathered around a beautiful picture to spark their imagination and got busy crafting their own masterpieces inspired by what they saw. During activity, we focused on sustainability by using recycled material such as plastic bottle caps, cardboard scraps, and toilet paper rolls and paint to create bright & colorful flowers. Through this, they explored fine motor skills, artistic expression, and learned the value of reusing materials.

Science in Action: Osmosis with Gummy Worms! 🧪🐸
Earlier this week, our curious Fritids learners @futuraskolan_radan explored the fascinating concept of osmosis through a fun, hands-on experiment using gummy worms and water! 🍬💧
By observing how water moves through selective semi-permeable membranes - just like in real cells - students discovered how water naturally flows from areas of high concentration to low concentration.
We also made real-world connections to our local frog populations 🐸 - highlighting how understanding osmosis helps us care for the delicate balance of life in our local environment.

Students from grade 8 (classes 8E and 8F) @futuraskolan_bergtorp had the chance to visit Europa House in Stockholm this week. 🇪🇺
During the visit, they learned more about how the EU functions, reflected on democracy and made meaningful connections to the Global Goals and our ongoing Global Citizenship Project (GCP).
It was an inspiring day filled with learning, critical thinking, and new perspectives on how we are all part of something bigger. 🌍🙌

Celebrating Sweden’s National Day at Futuraskolan International Preschool Näsby Park 🇸🇪🎉
Today, we had a joyful preschool-wide Circle Time to celebrate Sweden’s National Day! The children learned some fun and fascinating facts about this special day.
We talked about how people across Sweden wave the blue and yellow flag, enjoy traditional foods like meatballs, princess cake, and strawberries, and celebrate in castles and parks! We also spoke about how much this country loves sports like football, hockey, and skiing.
Together, we cheered “Hurra för Sverige!” and sang the Swedish National Anthem with pride. The celebration was made extra festive with face painting in the beautiful colours of the Swedish flag. 💛💙
It was a fun and meaningful way to learn more about Swedish culture and celebrate together!
