Who we are
Futuraskolan International pre-school Kvarnskogen is a bilingual pre-school with children and staff from all over the world. We have an international perspective preparing the children to be citizens of the world and our pedagogical activities are performed in Swedish and English.
English is our common language, but we are able to support the children in other languages.
Our Location
The preschool is located in spacious and nice premises in a quiet residential area in Kvarnskogen. We have a large playground with a proximity to forests and natural areas. The Pre-school is easily reached by bus.
What we offer and how we work
Futuraskolans vision is that we want to be the best springboard for future global citizens. We do this by introducing the English language early and creating an understanding of similarities in the different cultures of the world. We learn the English language in a playful way through play and songs.
We work with the International Early Years Curriculum, IEYC. IEYC is an international, thematic, creative curriculum with a clear process of learning with specific learning goals for each topic. We see that this method benefits children’s curiosity and creativity while stimulating participation and dedication. Through the thematic element and the subject-integrated approach, it creates the whole and context for the children.
We also place great emphasis on children’s language development. Managing their language in meeting with other children and adults creates joy and increase confidence about their own self, which in turn gives them a good sense of self-esteem.
Our outdoor environment allows for many different games and activities where the children naturally exercise their gross motor skills and we spend a lot of time outdoors. The proximity to the forest is a great asset that we have and we visit it every week during all seasons of the year.
We use the TYRA app as our main communication platform. TYRA enables the guardians to see our daily organisation and work with the children in the pre-school. The guardians are continuously updated on what the children are learning about as well as informed and reminded about special days and events.
