PISA results – Futuraskolan – 2025-2026

Good morning members of the Futuraskolan community,

Over the past few weeks, I have had the pleasure of spending time with our Student Council (elevsråd) representatives from across our schools and preschools. It has been both inspiring and rewarding to listen to their reflections and thoughtful suggestions on how we can continue to strengthen our practices, all with the shared ambition of delivering a world-class student development program for our learners.

Our progress in recent years has continued to be shaped by the strong academic performance of our students. As many of you know, Futuraskolan consistently ranks among the top free school organizations in Sweden.

This past year, students at Futuraskolan International Rådan maintained their position as one of the top-performing schools in the country. At the same time, Futuraskolan International Stockholm and Futuraskolan International Kottla have further distinguished themselves by improving upon last year’s already impressive results, placing them among the highest-ranked schools nationally.

Across all Futuraskolan schools, it is the dedication and hard work of our students that have contributed to a strong overall performance, with a final average merit value of 276.1. Below is an updated overview of our results in comparison with other high-performing free school organizations in Sweden based on the grade 9 results from the 2024-2025 academic year:

When placing our results in an international context, Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm continues to demonstrate outstanding performance. Based on externally assessed international benchmarks aligned with global PISA standards, our students are performing within the top 10% of schools across Europe. These externally graded assessments provide valuable insight into how our program compares globally—and the results remain highly encouraging.

The tables below present an overview of our students’ performance in Reading, Mathematics, and Scientific Literacy:

Through a student-centered approach, a focus on high-impact teaching and learning, and the continued development of our international curriculum framework, we are able to ensure that our students consistently perform above both national and international averages in core academic areas.

We would like to extend our appreciation to our dedicated leadership and teaching teams for their commitment and professionalism. We also thank our parents for the vital role you play in supporting your children’s learning at home.

Most importantly, we commend our students for their achievements. Your commitment and effort continue to lead to outstanding results, and we are proud to support you on your learning journey.

Thank you for your continued trust in Futuraskolan and for allowing us to play a part in your child’s academic and social development. We remain fully committed to honoring that trust.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.

Sincerely,

Tom Callahan
