Futuraskolan International Stockholm (Bilingual) students in grade 8 have been to Bosnia!
Through the Atlas Organization and Futuraskolan’s Global Citizenship Program our students in Grade 8 in Futuraskolan International Stockholm (bilingual) have had a trip of a lifetime! Follow their fantastic journey in the slide shows below. Thanks to all of our host families and chaperones who helped make this trip so special. A big thank you to Futuraskolan’s Alma Milic who set this trip up and made it happen!
Day 1! On our way to Sarajevo and super-excited!
Day 2 in Bosnia
We got to meet our wonderful host families. Together with our new friends, we explored the city of Zenica. We went to a football game at their stadium, and visited a Catholic and an Orthodox Church, as well as a Mosque and a synagogue!
Day 3 in Bosnia
We explored the old city of Travnik where you can have the most delicious and delightful ćevapi. We had the opportunity to visit the fortress of Travnik, the birth place of Ivo Andrić, the Nobel prize winner for literature.
Day 4 in Bosnia
Today we visited Sarajevo. We explored the “Tunnel of Hope”, the Paradox Museum of Illusions and had a fika on Baščaršija.
Day 5 in Bosnia
More adventure! We got to visit the Pyramid in Visoko. We went through the tunnel in the pyramid and on the actual mountain! This was quite the experience and so very exciting.
Last day in Bosnia!
The last day we spent in Zenica. We ate Sutlija (a rice porridge type of meal) and homemade cake together with homemade juice. We got to bring with us Ajvar and jam. We have made some fantastic new friends and can’t wait to see them again. We look forward to hosting them when they in turn come and visit us in Sweden in December. It will be difficult to match their fantastic hosting – they made us feel so much at home in Serbia. We ended our adventurous trip with bowling and some Piazza shopping! We love Bosnia!!!
