Words from the head of schools - Futuraskolan
International Curriculum International School of Stockholm

Dear Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm Parents and Students,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to a marvelous year at Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm. We are all excited to have laughter, cheers and smiles filling the halls as they have been too quiet without the energy and enthusiasm of the students!

It is our mission to make sure every student is seen, heard, respected, welcomed and a part of the Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm family. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow in their academic abilities and social, emotional adeptness to help create worldly and internationally minded individuals.

At Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm we aim to be a progressive and inclusive international community which is founded on respect. We are excited to announce that inline with this goal we will offer two school choices at Erik Dahlbergsgatan;

International School - education following the international curriculum (must meet entrance requirements of international education before admittance). The International School has English as the language of instruction and has an international school permit, so does not follow the Swedish curriculum (LgR11). Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm offers an international education, Grades 1-9, projected Grade 10-12 opening 2019/2020. The International School is accredited by the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) and will be starting the accreditation process for CIS/MSA in 2018/2019 school year. International belongs to the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), the Nordic Network (NN) and Fieldwork Education.

Bilingual School – Swedish education following the Swedish curriculum, Lgr11 and offers Swedish and English as the language of instruction to Grade 0-9. The IPC and IMYC is applied and integrated with the Lgr11 at the Bilingual School for grade 0-9 as a foundation for International Mindedness.

I am honoured to start the 2018/2019 year as Head of Schools at Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm setting the foundation of cooperation between International and Bilingual schools. With the joint collaboration between the International Principal, Nicole MacDonald and the Bilingual Principal, Veronna Pomeroy, I can guarantee a building centered on our values; Progressiveness, Energy and Respect!
